Work

Working is just one thing that I love to do, but the people I work with is another story that isn't a great thing that I enjoy. I would rather do hard manual labor than bussy work or work that is just sitting around doing nothing when there is not anything going on(like at the Malco theaters...where I work.) I do like working there but honestly I would rather be on a farm somewhere doing that kind of work, that kind is awsome. My 2 sisters also both work at the Malco which is a plus and my younger sis boy friend works there as well and he's awsome as well, also a select few other people are okay to work with. But other than that I have a real problem with the rest of them. They make me sick. They are always late back from break, they never do anything unless a manager is around and most of the time they still don't do anything, they have the complete opposite morals that I have and just need some absolute help, cause they are awful. I wish they would all get fired and the world would be a better place, and when I don't work for a few days I sometimes wonder if when I get back there will be a sign posted on the door saying "condemed" "enter at your own risk" or something like that.

Opening Days of DS(duck season)

Opening day of big duck season has come and gone and our number of ducks killed so far is 33. Back in September was early wood duck season and during that season you can only kill 2 woodies a day and 2 extra teal, but where we hunt you usually don't ever see any teal, but any how we limited out every time that we went. Then on Thanksgiving another early season of any kind of duck came in for a week, I didn't get to go but my dad and brother did and they killed a few more. Know that big duck season is in we went to Ballard County, the two days that we were drawed, to move our numbers up and have a great time doing what we love so much. Anyways we got up at 3:20 and went to check in, drawed pit number 7(which is usually about the worse you can darw and we always draw it and have no luck but this year is a new year.) We drove to our blind and set up, climbed into the blind expecting nothing and at about that time ducks started coming out everywhere. We thought shooting time was at 6:18 so we started shooting but was later warned that it better not happen again and that legal shooting hour was at 6:27. We ended up killing 10 ducks that day, i shot a few more, but was never found. The next day wasn't as great but it was okay, we killed 1 more. The first day the wind was blowing 50 miles and hour and cold and the second the wind wasn't as bad but the temperature was 18 degrees. It was a great time...

Duck Season

Duck season is my absolute favorite hunting season of the year. It is awsome. I like to go squirl, rabbit, dove, and deer hunting but deep in my soul is ducks. I look forward to it all year long and only have 60 days of it, but I don't get to go all that I want. Its a great time to sit there and kill some ducks, eat on some food, have some hot chocolate and coffee, and a lot of the time get really cold but warm up in front of a buddy heater. I love to go hunting with my brother, father, papaw, and many of the rest of the guys in my family. The other day when I went hunting, me, my brother, father and papaw went to Ballard County to go kill some ducks. Earlier this year we signed up on the internet to hunt that day and we got drawed to hunt. We went down there the night before and got a motel. We then meet my brother at the Willow Pond for some supper and it was fantastic. They have some of the best hushpuppies i have ever eaten, and the absolute best steakburger i have ever put in my mouth. I can taste it now it was the Best. Then at 3:20 the next morning we got up and went to check in at the refuge. Right now we are at 33 ducks killed and our quota that we would like to reach is 200. A lot but can be done.

Malco and Problems with Malco

I any of you said you didn't know where I worked, its probably hard to believe cause I work at Malco and am basically there every weekend and several days through the week. It is a job that is not hard, with great benefits and a few good people that you don't mind working with. It has its ups and downs, just like any other job that one could have. If you don't know who I am you could tell by the tall guy that is constantly busy doing something cause no most everyone else doesn't feel that its a good idea to actually do there job. Not trying the be boastful and say that I am the greatest worker there...but basically its true. Malco needs some improving to its work force so that I don't have to do everything. I'm getting paid the exact same thing that anyone else is getting paid and except I am actually earning it. You don't see me just standing around doing nothing when there is work to be done. Yeah I have fun at work but if there was some people that I actually liked being around it would the even better. If it wasn't for me and my sisters and my sisters boyfriend Earl and a select few other people, I'm not sure if the Malco Theatres here in the Big O' would be closed for buisness for unproper care and a sign hung on the door that said condemned.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving Dinner is one of the greatest moments that I look forward to each and every year. Thanksgiving is my second favorite time and holiday of the year. It stand second only to Christmas because it is basically the same thing except the presents giving is not there. Thanksgiving food is the best. Starting out with the turkey (got to have this), ham, mashedpotato casarol, greenbean casarol, rolls, cranberry sause, cerry and jello salad, pumkin pie, pecan pie, cheese cake, and much much more that I'm not even thinking about. Thanksgiving is a great time to speed with your family and give thinks to all that I have. Thursday I will have thanks giving with my dads side of the family and on Saturday my internal family will be participating in it. I have so much to be thankful for, things that I recognize daily, weekly, or don't even think about. I am especially thankful to my family and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who came to earth and died for me and everyone else that lives, when he could have called ten thousand angels to destory everything. But here I am 2 thousand years later, having the opportunities to live and take part in all of the things that I do. Thanks...

Veterans

I just want to send out thanks to all of you Veterans that have won and kept the freedom of America. Veterans are all around us and usually we don't notice or recognize them but just one day a year, the day that Americans have decided to dedicate to them, Veterans Day. These men and women that have devoted their time into have gone to achieve great things for our country. They have won and kept our freedom for years upon years. Veterans are everywhere nad we just don't know who, those who we work with or for, our family, and those who have died defending our country so that we will continue to have that freedom. Freedom is a great price to pay, but one many are willing to take to insure the safty of the ones that they love and their family to come. I will soon be turning 18 in less than 2 weeks and I will have to go and register myself the the US Government to serve. Not something that I want to do, go to war, but if there was to be a draft me and my brother would both have to go and a possiblility that one or both of us would not return. This is something that would tear my family up, we are one and this is just one thing that would destroy it. I don't have any Veterans in my family but I know the price that many pay for you and me. So Thanks you Veterans that have risked their lives so that I don't have to face that anytime soon hopefully and possibly never. Thanks for all you hav done for me and my family.

Rain

Rain is a fasinating thing. It starts from the sky, falls to the ground, then returns to a cloud bank in the sky. Then the cycle just continues over and over again. Recycling of nature. To me I like and dislike rain. I like rain when I don't have anything to do, the rain coming down can be so peaceful. I like the sound and smell of rain, its great to go out and play in, to run around getting muddy and wet. I love running in the rain, it like it keeps refreshing me and I could just keep running and running, making me feel stronger. I love the rain when I'm on vacation at the lake, sitting on the porch of the cabin, over looking the water and the trees all around, the freshness of nature. I don't like rain when it interrups what I am doing. Like in the summer and even now like today, I have grass and leaves to mow, but it all gets wet and I can't get it done like I need to. I'm getting behind and will have to putting it off until the weather is nice and all my people don't like to well. But all in all rain is a good thing, it keeps us from thirsting, it helps the crops grow, and our waters fresh...

For others, then ourselves...

--"We do not simply live our lives for ourselves, but for those who came before and will come after us."
I think that this quote or statement is very true because a lot of the time we tend to do something to please the people that were are around. We will go out of our way to make the people that we love proud and pleased about us. We do these things for ourselves but we also do them for the people that look to us and to the people that look up to us. We want to lead a good example to the younger generation that is coming up behind us. These kids that look up to us, we usually don't know that they look up to us, so that is why we need to lead that good example so that they follow that instead of the bad side that we may have. We see the accomplishments of our parents, and that may be good enough but we tend to want more, and the more we have we think we need more, so we stretch our goal and achieve more. Standards are set, and to reach them we have to do more to get there. The occupation that my father is in now requires more education now then it did then, so there for we have to reach further to obtain that goal. When the day is done and we look back at what we have done, helping others is a better feeling that helping ourselves.

Finish the Story!

--The black cat twitched its tail twice. It hissed. Then disappeared as it sprinted away into the night. Two brothers dressed as Batman and Robin saw the cat and thought nothing of the sneaky suspicion of the cat. The boys were out in the yard playing batman as they fought off their imaginated villians that was tring to break into the Batcave and the house of Gothom. As they continued thier journey from house to house they filled their buckets full till candy was going everywhere. Every now and then they would catch a glimps of that black cat following them. As they went back to their house to see what kind of candy they had and trade, a gang of bullies walk upon their path and stopped them in thier tracks, trying to find out what they were up to they questioned the two brothers. The boys were beginning to become afraid and offered the guys some of the candy they had gotten from the houses. So the boys stuffed their pockets with as much as they could when a Police Officer rolled around the corner, and the gang took off. The boys terrified and almost home now took off as fast as possible to get to the safty of their father and check the candy they still had left. Even thought the gang snached up a bunch of candy they were still satisfied with what they had and would go with the safety of a parent next year.

FAV Halloween

What was the best Halloween you ever had. Tell what you did, when you did it, where you did it, who you did it with, and why you enjoyed it.
--I can't really say which Halloween would be the one that I thought was my best Halloween. Halloween has never really been one of those holidays that I really thought about much, it came and it went, I went along with the actions, and then it was over just like that. As a kid I guess I really thought it was just something else, all of the candy that I received, and the costume that I always looked so forward to about wearing. I guess that I would say that they have all been good ones, I can't remember a Halloween that went badly for me. Yes, the candy was always great as a child but now that I am older it goes much deeper than that. They are always the same: because of the fact that I live in the country, there never was ever really a place to go around my house, so when we were dressed we would go to town and to the families houses, then we would venture to going to one of my aunts houses were everyone would meet and go out and around to the other houses in the neighborhood with some of the cousins. After we got tired of going house to house we would go to the grandparents houses for the rest of the night and visit with the family. The reason that it was so enjoyable is because I was there with my family getting that chance to visit and fellowship the people that I love the most.

Use your five senses.

Describe several Halloween sights, sounds, smells, tastes and touches.
--Halloween brings about many different things to make you think about. Some sights that I think about when I think about halloween is the many different costumes that are running around just everywhere. So many costumes with such a wide variety, scary monsters to princess and heros to villians. Halloween decorations line the streets and the little kids run to get thier candy. Sounds that halloween make me think of is the scream and chatter of cheerful children. Also there is the scary sounds that are in the decorations that people put out, and the scarring of anyone and everyone. Smells of Halloween is the smell of fall, candy apples, costumes that have been put away in storage all year. Also the the smell of pumkin candles and the punch and food and the grandparents house. Tastes of halloween also include the pumkin pies, candy apples, carmal, sherbert punch and many, many more candys. Touches of Halloween is the push of a doorbell and the grabbing of someone trying to scare others. Halloween is one of those times that require the use of all of your senses when you don't even think about it.

Fall Camping Trip

Every year me, my dad, and my brother take a fall camping trip to Kentucky Lake, it has always just been us, but this year we invited my mother and two sisters to tag alone with us and also one of my sisters boyfriend. He has never been a part of a family like ours, and has found that it is what he likes and where he belongs. We have always enjoyed the camping in the backwoods, but this year we bought a camper, so us boys had the luxery of camping in the camper until the girls came down and then me and Earl was happily kick out and into the tent. It wasn't really a good weekend to go camping because of the constant rain. But we all agreed that it was possibly one of the best camping trips we have had yet. Even though it wasn't just us guys and all of the girls were there with us, they may have made it better because it was the whole family their together. It has always been a hunting trip that we hunted deer and squirls, but this year my dad and brother was only planning to squirl hunt and I was planning to do both but, I forgot to buy my deer permit and then my mom forgot to bring it to me, so I was not able to do any bow-hunting. I did kill a lot of squirls and because I wanted to kill something with my new bow and it couldn't be a deer I took a stealth walk through the woods and stuck a squirl with my bow. It was possible the best shot of the year.

THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY ATTIC--Mercer Mayer

--What where you afraid of as a young child?
As a young child I really wasn't afraid of much anything that I can think of. I was one of those kids that wanted to be like my father and brother that always seemed so brave and manly to me. I never was afraid of the dark or anything in it, except that the fact that there could be someone there that would hurt me or my family. I have always been a dare devil and wanted to do dangerous things that the majority would be horrified of. I have had fears that something would happen to someone in my family, we are closer that any other family I have ever been around. If something happened to any one of them it would change everything and a large piece of me would be lost forever, never to regain. But all in all what I am afraid of or is my biggest fear would be something happening to my family. I would rather something happen to me than to one of them because I don't want to see anything happen to them. This is selfish of me but I don't want anything to happen to them.

—Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.—Elizabeth Lawrence

So what is autumn to you?
—To me autumn is a time of peace, relaxation, enjoyment, and a time to just let your worries go and sit in the woods and take in the nature around you. To me autumn reminds me of squire hunting and deer hunting (bow season). I love to hunt with my brother and dad and these are two seasons that are in during the fall. Every fall we take a trip to LBL (Land Between the Lakes) to squire hunt and do a little bow hunting as well. We take this trip for a little father-to-son and brother-to-brother time. When I am deer hunting up in my tree it is so nice to watch the surrounding around me, take in the nature and watch the animals roam as I sit unnoticed. When I am squire hunting I will do the same except that I am on the ground sitting usually leaning up against a soft mossy log or tree. Sitting around the camp fire at night as the cool air roles in is so relaxing and comfortable. The fall camping trip is the best, it is a time that I can have nature to myself something that is good to maintain or insure manhood, so says the book Wild At Heart, which I recommend for any guy to read when becoming a man.

Reading the Writing on the Wall

The Vast Majority of people in Chaucer’s time could not read or write. How would you life be different if you could not read or write.
—If I could not read or write I would feel that something very significant is missing in my life. I have always enjoyed reading books that I was interested in, but didn’t read very often, usually just at school; but recently I have taken it up to the point that about any spare time I have that is what you would find me doing. I believe that reading expands your imagination which will help you understand things better when reading and will improve when you are writing something for school. If I didn’t have the skills to read and write I would not be able to write my girlfriend letters that will make her feel better when she is down or just to tell her how I feel. Also if I couldn’t read then I wouldn’t be able to read her letters as well. People may say that we don’t read or write very often, but you are doing it when you don’t even realize it, such as when you are driving down the road, you are reading signs to know where to go or what the laws of the road are in that particular area. Very important in our daily lives today.

Mark Twain

--"I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them." --Mark Twain
Do you agree or disagree with Mark Twain?
I very much agree with Mark Twain's quote because when you are around someone daily you don't see the full side of them. When you are with that person maybe locked in a car or hotel room that is when you truly learn of someones identity. They may put up a good show when you see them day to day but when trapped with them things come out. There have been a many of times that I may go on a trip with the church youth group and thing it is going to be a great time with that person but ends in other ways because they tend to bring out a different side to them that I am not used to while I am with them at church. This also has been the same when traveling with family. But when traveling I have noticed that this doesn't happen as much with guys than with girls, guys usually tend to have a great time no matter what, its the girls that go off on a trip and come back hating one another. Everyone is different though, and have different situations that may arise such things.

Spring

--What does Spring make you think about? How does spring make you feel?
Springs make me think about the birth of a new world, ridding of the old and the beggining of the new. Buds and Leaves are coming on to the trees and bushes and making everything pretty and full of life. It makes me think of baseball and fishing and swimming, biking and running; all of the great things that I love to do. It makes me want to start training for races and triatholons, I am able to get out in the fresh cool air after fridged winter. I am able to go visit my brother and do some quallity fishing with him and dad. Spring makes me feel great, the cool breeze in the air. You can start working in the yard again, taking off my shirt and adding some color to that pale skin that had been wrapped up all winter. It makes me feel new and fresh, like a new person. All four seasons have there pro's and con's, and great in their own way, but by the time spring roles around I am definitly ready for it.

What would life be like without potatoes?

--People in England in Chaucer's day did not know what a potato was and so could never have eaten chips or fries or mashed.
Life without potatoes, what an interesting question. Potatoes are such a big part of Americans food and also a key in "fast food." Potatoes has been a healthy vegitable that has turned unhealthy by Americans culture. We take them and load them down with oils, butter, flour type batters, and make them really a delisious vegetable. A regular old potato, plain by itself really isn't all that great, its when spiceing it up that it changes everything. A potato is a root and how can a root be so good. Without potatoes how could we ever have made that good ol' down home country cookin'. Potatoes are the soul to the South. There are so many things that you can do with potatoes and they are all so good. So for me I would have to say that potatoes have been a big part of my moms country cookin' and would feel that something was missing if there was no longer and potatoes in this world.

“Love is blind.”—Geoffrey Chaser

—What do you think? Blind or not?
In many ways I think that love is blind. I think that love is blind because there are so many people that while they are in love they feel that all kinds of things feel right to do until they realize they don’t love that person anymore and they regret all of those things. When a person is in love they are blind to all of the bad qualities that that particular person possesses. While in love they only see the good which is good but never any of the bad. This is the sole reason behind why many marriages are split up by divorce. I know for a fact that when I am interested in someone I see all of these good qualities and never any bad which ultimately I feel that that person will be great for me, when my family is sitting over here telling me all of the bad, but I am blind to this and don’t believe them. Which later I regret ever doubting my family because they are always right, and I could have saved myself all kinds of hard-ace. But I am only a human and I am a learner of my mistakes.

Laughter!!

—How does laughter unify us? Why is it important? Why is it contagious? Why is it amusing?
--Laughter is a wonderful thing, it brings us closer together, it picks somebody up when they are down, it brings life to a party. Laughter is something that can change many things. How would I say that laughter will unify us, well I would say that when someone makes a joke or is laughing about something it sort of lossens the stress in the air or gives people that chance to let go of whatever maybe holding them back and become a part of the group or party. Laughter unifies us an many different levels of problems. I would say that laughter is important because it can bring a sense of security to the environment and bring us together when the going gets rough. It is improtant because without laughter what would be our joy in life, laughter can change anything. I would now say that laughter is contagious because when someone starts laughing, you can't help but smile, or join the bandwagon and laugh with them. Even when someone makes a joke that you don't hear and everyone starts laughing you usually can't help but to join in with them unless you think it has something to do with you. Some would say that laughter is contaigious because you may be laughing at someone else's laughter, but who really knows why laughter is contaigious. Laughter is amusing because it will help you to get over something bad in your life and just watching other people laugh can be amusing.

What qualities do you like in a leader?

—As you grow and change throughout the course of your life, there are people that lead and there are people that follow. These people will pick up a particular set of qualities that will make them either become a leader or else a follower. Qualities that I look for in a leader are being able to take charge and make something happen when the project at hand is not going exactly the way planned or when someone just needs to take the lead and get something done. A leader is a person in charge, an organizer, the head of an event, boss, or director, etc. A leader needs to be understanding and be able to help those that fall behind or those that have a hard time concentrating or keeping up. A leader will go back and account for those with problems; they will be an extra hand to anyone that is in need.

Precipitancy creates prodigality. (Haste makes waste)

First figure out the more familiar version of this proverb(i.e. how is it usually said)
Describe an experience where you found this proverb to be true. Has being in a hurry ever paid off? Has it made matters worse?
—The more familiar version of this proverb “Precipitancy creates prodigality” would be Haste makes waste. An experience where I found this proverb to be true was just in everyday life. I find that anytime someone makes haste out of something that doesn’t matter or is just making trouble, then it will turn into waste, something that you wish you never did or something that is just maybe hurt someone in any kind of way. This would also refer to the fact that once when I was running a little late to cross country practice I started to go over the speed limit not thinking it would be a problem but just then a police officer came from nowhere and caught my speed and pulled me over for a rather pricy ticket. No I cannot say that being in a hurry pays off because it just gets you into a bad mood or in trouble somehow, or you just put someone else at a risk or in danger. Yes, haste makes waste can make matters worse because it just doesn’t help in anyway.

"Friendship Doubles Joy and Halves Grief"--egypt

What does this Egyptian proverb mean to you? Can you describe a situation where this proverb has been true in your life or that of someone else?
--This Egyptian proverb to me means that when you put yourself out there to search and find friendship you will have more joy in your life that will result in a decrease in grief. The more joy you have in your life the less grief that will be there to get at you. So therefore if you double the joy in your life then it will half your grief. Its like a weighing scale, as one side goes down the other goes up. Yes, this proverb proves true to everyone around the world everyday. I absolutley hate school, i don't want to be here, the only reason that gets me through is the fact that I am bettering my education and the friends that I have here. So that is an example of making something that is not so great to something much better.

Which family member do you relate to most?

--I have a mother, father, a brother and two sisters that I can relate to all in their own way and the different things that we do together. But the member of my family that I feel that I relate to the most would have to be my brother. Not that I relate to the rest of my family very much but me and my brother do so much together and that is the same. As I was growing up he was always there to take me hunting, always there when I killed my first deer, duck, squirrel, etc. We went fishing all the time together. We are both outgoing, and can bring a smile to any crowd when we get to know you except it doesn’t matter who it is for my brother. We are best friends.
What does your family mean to you and why?
--My family means the world to me, they are everything to me, and the most important part of my life other than my Lord and Savior. My family and I have such a close relationship that astonishes others, they say that we are different. At first I heard this as a young child and didn’t like it, I thought my family was just like others, but as I grow a face the ways of the world and see that this is a good thing to be different. I see that being different is not a bad thing, it’s a way of saying that I’m glad that I am not like the rest of the world because most of them are headed down the wrong road, the road that is wide rather than the narrow way that leads to life. All during growing up me and my family have done everything together.

FIRST BLOGGER OF THE YEAR

Hey ya'll its the stallion. This blogger thing is pretty nifty, kind of makes writing fun. Today I had a test in Government, kind of a challenging test but not to awfully bad. After school i have a cross country practice at panther creek. This will be the first year for me to run cross country, I'm not where i want to be but that's understandable, due to the fact that it is my first year and i have been injured many times this year. Right now i have an injured Achilles hill, a chin splint and a knee full of liquid. The worst thing about it is that i have a race on Saturday and I'm not nearly ready for it. With a commitment to my family and also a commitment to my team i am pulled on when my cross country career will end this year. It is tobacco cutting time and I'm am the best worker at my house, not bragging but its true. They are wanting me to quit so i can fully devote my time to them, but with the commitment i feel that i have to my team I do not know what i should do. On one side of it i feel that i should quit now before i get into it any further, but also i feel that i need to try and lay off for a few weeks, hold off and maybe everything will work out for me. That's all for now, over and out.........
