Reading the Writing on the Wall

The Vast Majority of people in Chaucer’s time could not read or write. How would you life be different if you could not read or write.
—If I could not read or write I would feel that something very significant is missing in my life. I have always enjoyed reading books that I was interested in, but didn’t read very often, usually just at school; but recently I have taken it up to the point that about any spare time I have that is what you would find me doing. I believe that reading expands your imagination which will help you understand things better when reading and will improve when you are writing something for school. If I didn’t have the skills to read and write I would not be able to write my girlfriend letters that will make her feel better when she is down or just to tell her how I feel. Also if I couldn’t read then I wouldn’t be able to read her letters as well. People may say that we don’t read or write very often, but you are doing it when you don’t even realize it, such as when you are driving down the road, you are reading signs to know where to go or what the laws of the road are in that particular area. Very important in our daily lives today.
